Youth Voice Committee
The Youth Voice Committee
began its work in May 2003 and aimed to generate positive image
of youth in the Wynnum/Manly area.
One of their main aims was to
establish a Wynnum Youth Space, safe place for all young people
in Wynnum/Manly area to come and participate in variety of
different youth initiatives, workshops and activities.
The committee held activities
and regular 'get togethers' for all young people with the
support of the Youth Participation Committee (made up of
representatives from local youth service providers).
Today the collective has been
re-established and is busily working on numerous projects for
Wynnum/Manly in particular planning and delivering youth
workshops/activities through LINX- Wynnum Youth Space based in
BABI offices at 34 Bay Tce, Wynnum.
At present, our aim is to
reduce the prejudice and negativity that is placed upon youth in
the Wynnum/Manly area and develop a non-judgmental space for the
youth to enjoy and be proud to call their own. |
