So, What’s a YSC, anyway?

A YSC is a Youth Support Coordinator.

Well, what do they do?

YSC’s work with young people in Years 4-12
in Schools or their TAFE equivalent.

So, how do they help?

YSC’s work with young people, who are having problems at home, school or with other young people.

 We help young people come up with ways that work for them do deal with and overcome problems in life.

What can they provide?

YSC’s can provide:

1. Information and referral for young people and their families.
2. Face to face support.
3. Group work
4. Linkages between schools, TAFE, community organisations and the wider community.

How do you get to talk to a YSC?

There are many ways that you can access a YSC, such as:

• Self-referrals (you refer yourself)
• Parents
• Teachers
• Support agencies

These referrals can be made in person, by phone, email or fax.
